Black Restaurant Week takes place in Las Vegas through March 21st. It will feature six local restaurants and highlight the revitalization and rescue of the black restaurant industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurants offer prix fixe brunch, lunch and dinner menus.
Pots, Iman Haggag’s Egyptian restaurant, offers a kebab combination with a crispy cauliflower kebab sandwich, Egyptian fries and a selection of karkadeh (hibiscus extract tea) or iced tea in their restaurant on South Rainbow Boulevard USD.
Simply Pure by chef Stacey Dougan in Downtown Container Park offers vegan and vegetarian dishes. For Black Restaurant Week, diners can get a Nacho Grande with Lime Corn Chips, Vegan Protein Beef, Cheddar Cheese Sauce, Spring Onions, Sour Cream, and Pico de Gallo for $ 7.95 for a half order or $ 12.95 for a full one Order order. Lo-Lo’s Chicken & Waffles from founder Larry “Lo-Lo” White offers southwestern dishes like fried chicken and soul food in the northwest.
Soul Food and the Asian fusion counter-service restaurant Soul Foo Young, the Gritz Cafe with soul food by Trina Jiles and Big Chicken owned by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal also take part.
This is the first time Black Restaurant Week, which started in 2016, has been held in Las Vegas.
