Floyd Mayweather is known as a flashy boxing champ, but now he’s set to have another title in Las Vegas: the owner of a runway.
Mayweather buys the Crystal Palace roller-skating property on Boulder Highway. The real estate agent Tanasha Pettigrew, who represents the pugilist in real estate deals, confirmed this to the review journal on Wednesday.
“He’s about to buy it,” she said. “The deal will be finalized shortly.”
The seller, Crystal Palace owner Tim Poole, also confirmed to the Review Journal that Mayweather is under contract to buy the place and said he wasn’t surprised the boxer wanted it.
“He’s been skating on our rink for years, he and his family,” said Poole.
Crystal Palace, located at 4680 Boulder Highway, covers more than 25,900 square feet and was incorporated on the LoopNet commercial real estate site in 1986 as of its listing. The price was $ 4.5 million.
The listing says the property is in an escrow account, which indicates that the sale is under contract.
43-year-old Mayweather is widely regarded as one of the best boxers of all time. In his 21-year career he set a 50-0 record and won world titles in five weight classes.
He last fought professionally in 2017, but will return to the ring next month, albeit for an exhibition game against YouTube star Logan Paul.
Mayweather officials did not respond to a request for comment on Wednesday.
Pettigrew says Mayweather is purchasing the building but has not yet decided what to do with the business itself. She also said Mayweather wanted to add to its real estate portfolio, including properties that “help people have a good time,” and that the famous fighter is an avid roller skater.
“As a kid, he skated all the time,” she said.
Pettigrew recently posted two photos of her and Mayweather on Instagram in the Crystal Palace parking lot, along with a message of congratulations.
“I hardly ever post my clients, but I had to share that God can go beyond anything. … I’m mostly a real estate agent, but I’ve sold gentleman’s clubs, supermarkets, restaurants, a church and now an ice rink, ”Pettigrew wrote in part.
She added, “Thank you God, thank you Mr. @floydmayweather.”
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties’ Crystal Palace real estate agent Jennifer Crystalberg previously told the Review Journal that the runway had come out because Poole was about to retire.
