Candace Ochoa has been named Government Chef of Bazaar Meat at SAHARA Las Vegas by José Andrés

SAHARA Las Vegas is pleased to announce the promotion of Candace Ochoa to Executive Chef of Bazaar Meat by José Andrés, where she will oversee all culinary operations for the award-winning restaurant. Ochoa has been with ThinkFoodGroup, the company behind Chef José Andrés ‘restaurant group, for a decade and is the only chef who has worked in all of Andrés’ Bazaar’s locations.

Ochoa has been Executive Sous Chef for Bazaar Meat at SAHARA Las Vegas since 2018 and also helped open the restaurant in 2014. She also helped open The Bazaar by José Andrés at the SLS Hotel in South Beach as a line chef as a Sous Chef The Bazaar by José Andrés at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. She assisted José Andrés with the grand openings of Bazaar Mar at SLS Brickell in Miami Beach and Mercado Little Spain at Hudson Yards in New York City. Los Angeles native Ochoa earned her associate degree in culinary arts from the Art Institute of California.

In her new role, Ochoa will work with both the SAHARA Las Vegas and ThinkFoodGroup teams to create year-round seasonal menus as well as special menus to add to new additions to the hotel, including MAGIC MIKE LIVE Las Vegas. She looks forward to using new flavors such as local fruit and vegetables and incorporating ideas from her kitchen colleagues in the Bazaar Meat team.
