CCFD responds to fireplace on the Cosmopolitan resort balcony | Las Vegas Native Breaking Information, Headlines

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – Clark County Fire Department crews extinguished a fire on the 51st floor of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Saturday night.

According to the fire department, smoke was reported on the property at 3708 S. Las Vegas Boulevard around 8 p.m. CCFD hit the ground running with its “high-rise response policy” and found smoke in the hallway, then a fire on a balcony.

The fire was quickly put out and the room searched to make sure everyone was evacuated. The fire and smoke did not spread to the upper or lower floors.

“Several” people were brought to Sunrise Hospital with minor injuries.

CCFD said they responded with a total of 10 fire trucks, four ladder trucks, four rescue workers, two squads and four battalion chiefs and a total of 72 employees.

The cause and origin of the fire are currently being investigated.
