LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The popular Los Angeles-style street food restaurant Dirt Dog cut the ribbon on Monday morning at its third location in Las Vegas, creating another culinary option for the relaxing Neonopolis-Fremont Street Experience.

“We’re excited,” said Kenny Dang, co-owner of Dirt Dog. “Since day one, we’ve always wanted to be in Vegas and the Strip, and this is where we have the opportunity to be on Fremont. We are very excited. “

In a ceremony with Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, Councilor Cedric Crear and Raiders legend Greg Townsend, Dirt Dog opened its doors to hungry passers-by at the south end of the three-story shopping and dining complex.

The new location is across from the Fremont Street Experience, right next to the entrance to the Slotzilla Zipline.

Dirt Dog specializes in bacon-wrapped hot dogs filled with toppings such as french fries, pieces of bacon, and flavorful sauces. They also sell a variety of LA-style street foods, such as laden fries, potatoes, tacos, and fried desserts.

“Just like the Raiders, we’re from LA, but we’re expanding into Vegas,” said Dang. “We have growth in both markets, LA and Vegas.”

The exterior of the restaurant features a mural of Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe enjoying hot dogs and elotes. Inside are murals of well-known LA cultural icons like Kobe Bryant.

“Aside from the food, it’s the LA culture,” Dang said when asked what drove customers to return to Dirt Dog. “With that we remain loyal.”

Dirt Dog’s arrival in Neonopolis comes at a time when the historically difficult outdoor mall is welcoming new tenants. 35 Cinema in The Nerd opened in March and the popular national restaurant chain Dick’s Last Resort opens on May 13th.

“We have tried so hard to incorporate the organic growth of all tenants (from Neonopolis) into our project,” said Rohit Joshi, owner and manager of Neonopolis. “We were lucky enough to get her (Dirt Dog) at the Neonopolis project on Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard. I am so proud of her. “

Dirt Dog’s other two Vegas locations are on Rainbow and the Strip.
