Two casual restaurants are returning to the Las Vegas dining scene after a hiatus during the coronavirus pandemic. Downtown The Goodwich reopens on Thursday October 15 with a list of stacked rite sandwiches, local beers and a new brunch menu.
The menu includes coffee from Vesta and the brunch menu Good Breakfast, which is served all day on Saturdays and Sundays with dishes such as Proscuitto Happiness with scrambled eggs, parmesan and rocket pesto on a croissant. sun-dried rollie aioli served with scrambled eggs, rocket aioli, sauteed baby spinach, onions and carrots on a spinach wrap; and the Brekky Bread Bowl with scrambled eggs, sugardale ham, paprika jack and cheddar cheese, roasted peppers, tomatoes and cheese fondue in a sourdough bread bowl. Chef Dave Simmons, former head chef at Gallagher’s Steakhouse in New York-New York and Lawry’s – The Prime Rib, takes over the kitchen.
The Goodwich is officially open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The brunch comes later.

Joy of Hot Dog reopens at 506 Fremont Street every Thursday through Saturday from 8pm to 2am. The new hot dogs include the Walk in the Park, a vegan hot dog with sauteed vegetables, onions, red and green peppers, rocket, radishes and green goddess dressing; the Al Capone with diced tomatoes, sun-dried tomato pesto, caramelized onions, peppers and mozzarella; the chihuahua chick with diced grilled chicken, guacamole, coriander sauce, pico de gallo, tortilla chips and jalapeño; the hangover, filled with pastrami, grilled onions, white queso, and banana peppers; and the Elvis, topped with banana compote, peanut butter, pieces of bacon and crispy peanuts.
The neon-lit Joy of Hot Dog trailer also has a new art installation, “Electric Dandelions”. The 30-foot metal and acrylic dandelion sculptures serve as fireworks with LED animation at night. Liquid PXL created the art.
