At the Downtown Summerlin® Eatery, several pairings of the women behind the wine initiative are featured at their weekly wine tasting

What: JING Las Vegas at Downtown Summerlin® is hosting a wine tasting with two choices from the Women Behind the Wine initiative. There are five types of wine to choose from, each featuring an outstanding woman who works in the food, wine, spirits, hospitality or viticulture industries. Guests can choose between a Sparkling Brut Rose from J Vineyards and Winery with winemaker Nicole Hitchcock, Negi Toro Sushi – Fatty Tuna, Spring Onion, Japanese Shiso, Wasabi Kizami for USD 14, a Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay (guest’s choice) from Jayson by Pahlmeyer with CEO Cleo Pahlmeyer, paired with Wagyu Tartar – Mishima Ranch Wagyu, Citrus Ponzu, egg yolk, Black Tobiko for 12 USD, an Allegrini Palazzo della Torre or Amarone with CEO Marilisa Allegrini, paired with braised oyster mushroom – truffle & soy mirin- Glaze, polenta, Vietnamese herbs for 15 USD, a Brancaia Ilatraia Super Tuscan with winemaker Barbara Widmer, paired with Sugo di Crostini – braised Wagyu ragu, sourdough bread croistini and roasted garlic for 13 USD or a Louis Martini Monte Rosso Cabernet Sauvignon, with Vineyard Manager Brenae Royal paired with Creekstone Farms steak skewer – sweet paprika, black pepper sauce, spring onion for $ 17.

Women Behind Wine is an initiative whose mission is to “advance the careers and education of women in the food, wine, spirits, hospitality or viticulture industries”. They want to accomplish this mission by partnering with Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation, Ltd to provide $ 100,000 for a scholarship program. As part of this program, they fund a Masters Sommelier candidate, a Master of Wine candidate, they support teaching for a traditional academic path for someone interested in the field, and they offer perpetual regional scholarships that other applicants use The food, wine, spirits, hospitality and viticulture industries can make their dreams come true.
