Las Vegas has so much to offer, but its affordable living makes it a hot commodity. When the pandemic hit, many Americans made tough decisions and had to move away, and it looks like Las Vegas was a top destination for them.
Las Vegas took first place, closely followed by Phoenix, Denver, Austin, Atlanta, Houston, Orlando, Dallas, San Antoni and Tampa.
May is also the national month for moving. There has also been an increase in truck rentals to western mountain regions such as Idaho and Montana, according to Penske, reflecting the trend of people moving out of big cities for rural and remote areas.
Alex Stechschulte and his partner recently left Michigan. Both are looking for a fresh start and a warmer future in Las Vegas.
“I decided to move to Las Vegas for so many reasons,” said Stechschulte. “I’ve visited several times. Coming from Michigan, winter isn’t amazing. I love the sunshine and the blue sky. There are so many restaurants and things to do here. I love how worldly it is. “
Although the couple were in town for a short time, she said COVID wasn’t a factor in their decision to move to Sin City. They say their passion for the outdoors and the warmer weather was a major contributing factor. They think it will help them with their plan to grow their photo business.
The moving company reported similar trends in the first quarter of 2021. It had to make several significant fleet upgrades and expand its fleet to meet market demand.
