Meow Wolf Las Vegas Omega Mart tickets go on sale Tuesday

LAS VEGAS – Omega Mart might look like an ordinary grocery store.

However, a closer look reveals that things are not what they seem.

The newest attraction in Las Vegas is actually a portal to another world – and tickets are now available to experience Omega Mart when it opens on February 18th.

What is Omega Mart?

An interactive storytelling adventure at AREA15 by Meow Wolf – an arts and entertainment company based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Meow Wolf creates experience-based art exhibitions that guests can play and interact with independently. Omega Mart follows the success of the House of Eternal Return exhibition in Santa Fe.

The House of Eternal Return is a fascinating, interactive art installation for adults and children and is located in a building in the city’s industrial area. It has secret passages and tunnels that end in a lounge and a music venue.

Omega Mart is based on a similar philosophy – to combine the everyday with the wonderful and the alien.

In Omega Mart there are portals to another dimension.

It’s a 52,000 square foot viscerally stimulating, psychedelic, and unpredictable immersive art experience. The experience starts with hundreds of products stored on shelves.

Among the more than 150 products? Nut-free salted peanuts. Plausible deniability detergent. And wake up! – a real household cleaning spray.

“The show here in Las Vegas is truly a social commentary on consumerism, corporate culture and the environment, and we call it an alternative storytelling environment,” said Corvas Brinkerhoff, executive creative director of Meow Wolf Las Vegas. “Your mission is to convey a story to the audience.”

What story does Omega Mart tell?

When you enter Omega Mart, you are in a regular grocery store.

“On closer inspection,” said Brinkerhoff, “something very strange is going on.”

As you continue to explore, you will find portals in a parallel dimension.

Omega Mart has portals in one dimension that more than 100 artists were involved in creating.

“There are all kinds of fantastic and mysterious things to discover in this world,” said Brinkerhoff, but he refused to go into detail so that he would not spoil the trip for newcomers.

With every step through this new dimension, a story begins to unfold.

“You will find the operations of Omega Mart’s seedy parent company, DRAMCORP, and their metaphysical, scientific, and manufacturing experiments,” Brinkerhoff said. “But you can find all sorts of other wondrous and surprising experiences too.”

Hundreds of artists have contributed to the works of art experienced in the worlds beyond the Omega Mart store.

“Anyone interested in seeing art and understanding how art, technology and story can come together in unique ways would find Omega Mart very compelling,” said Marsi Gray, executive producer at Meow Wolf.

COVID-19 restrictions are being enforced

AREA15 enforces government-mandated restrictions – including wearing masks.

The indoor attraction uses an “AI-controlled thermal scanning platform” that monitors temperatures, detects the absence of a mask, and notifies staff if social distancing thresholds are not met.
