More people allowed on the casino floor

Many Las Vegas resorts have announced that they are back to full capacity on their gaming days after being approved by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

On May 10th, Wynn, Encore and The Strat Hotel, Casino & SkyPod announced that their casino floor would be 100% occupied again.

On May 12th, MGM, Caesars Entertainment, and Station Casinos announced that they would be returning to 1005 capacity on their gaming days as well.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, these casino properties were able to expand the capacity of their gaming floors after strong pressures to get their staff vaccinated. This included awards such as electronic gift certificates as an incentive.

The casinos’ push followed a notice issued in early April by the Nevada Gaming Control Board that the board would only consider increasing the gaming space in cases where “Licensees have taken measurable and significant steps to improve their workforce, visitors and visitors vaccinate and thus protect the community. “

The capacity increase only applies to the game days of these properties. Other areas of the resorts still have 80% capacity limits and 3 foot social distancing requirements. These went into effect on May 1st, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

More buffets are making a comeback

The Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace reopened on Thursday May 20th. On the same day it reopened, MGM Grand announced that it would be bringing back its buffet as well.

Employees must undergo health screening; According to a press release, team members and guests are required to wear masks.

The MGM Grand Buffet will reopen on Wednesday May 26th, according to a press release. The buffet is self-service.
