Siegfried Fischbacher battling most cancers in Las Vegas

Siegfried Fischbacher lost Roy Horn in May. Now he’s fighting for his life

The surviving member of the legendary illusion team Siegfried & Roy is fighting pancreatic cancer in Las Vegas. This comes from sources who are familiar with the superstar’s condition and have no authority to officially disclose any details about his health.

According to international reports taken from the German publication Bild and independently verified, Fischbacher is critically ill and at home in Las Vegas after a malignant tumor was removed in a 12-hour operation in Las Vegas.

Fischbacher’s publicist Dave Kirvin declined to comment.

The 81-year-old Fischbacher is said to have had an operation in December. In the original picture story, Fischbacher told his sister Dolore, a Franciscan living in Germany, that he is in the care of two hospice nurses and has asked to be looked after in his house in Las Vegas.

The sister is quoted in the pub and in other published reports as saying, “I take my brother with me in each of my prayers and I am deeply connected to him.”

Fischbacher’s long-time stage and life partner Roy Horn died in May after symptoms of COVID-19. Fischbacher’s most recent public appearance in Las Vegas was on August 26 at the inauguration of Siegfried & Roy Drive at The Mirage.

The resort is home to Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden, where Siegfried & Roy kept the crowds sold out for 12 years until Horn was pulled off the stage by the big cat Mantecore (then known as Montecore) in October 2001.

Fischbacher was in high spirits during the signing ceremony. The Vegas legend was again the focus of an unannounced event attended by few MGM Resorts officials and friends like choreographer and director Kenny Ortega.

Fischbacher remembered his legendary co-star and confidante and said that afternoon: “Sometimes I feel alone in Little Bavaria, but I think of him, his smile and he is with me. Everywhere I go he’s there, wherever I turn he’s with me. Everything we built there is built for us. “
