The crash in southeast Las Vegas kills motorcyclists

A motorcyclist died early Sunday after colliding with a car in southeast Las Vegas.

Just before 3 a.m., a motorcyclist was driving west on East Tropicana Avenue towards the green light on South Mountain Vista Street, according to a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department.

A 2008 Chrysler 300 was traveling east on Tropicana toward a blinking left arrow in Mountain Vista. The Chrysler turned left and was hit by the fast moving motorcycle, police said.

The motorcyclist, a 31-year-old man, was thrown from his bike and died on the scene, police said. He is identified after his family is informed of his death.

The driver and passenger of the car were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition. The rear passenger of the car was not injured.

This marks the 22nd traffic-related death in Metro jurisdiction this year, the department said.
