The proprietor of Exotics Racing Las Vegas takes second place within the NASCAR Manufacturers Hatch 200 Elite Division Dash Race

Romain Thievin qualifies from pole position to start the Brands Hatch 200 Sprint Elite race

“A second podium in three races is encouraging, but I want more,” said Thievin.

Brands Hatch 200, the second official event of the inaugural season of the NASCAR Touring Series EURO-RACECAR, took place this weekend with Romain Thievin, a Las Vegas resident and co-owner / CEO of Exotics Racing, an exotic driving experience in Las Vegas, second place in the sprint race the elite division. The race took place on May 19th at the Brands Hatch Circuit outside London, England.

Thievin started the Brands Hatch 200 Sprint Elite race from pole position after finishing first in qualifying races on May 18. Thievin also finished third in the Brands Hatch 200 Elite Division Endurance Race on May 20.

“A second podium in three races is encouraging, but I want more. It’s difficult to overtake on this tour and I expected a better performance,” said Thievin.

Thievin drove the # 99 Dodge Challenger on behalf of Still Racing-Exotics Racing. The car has also been driven in two races by Exotics Racing Las Vegas co-owner / CEO and Las Vegas based David Perisset. Perisset finished twelfth in the Open Division Sprint race on May 19th. On May 20, Perisset finished seventh in the Open Division Endurance race and second in the Gentleman Trophy category.

Last month, Thievin finished second in the Nogaro 200 Elite Division sprint race in Nogaro, France. The race, which was the first official event of the NASCAR Touring Series EURO-RACECAR, took place on April 7th in Nogaro, France, at Circuit Paul Armagnac. Perisset finished seventh overall in the Nagaro 200 Open Division Endurance race, fifteenth in the Open Division Sprint race, and was awarded second place in the Gentleman Trophy. Thievin and Perisset will participate in other EURO-RACECAR NASCAR Touring Series events, including Spa 200 in Belgium (June 8-10) and Tours Speedway 200 (July 7th-8th) in France.

The EURO-RACECAR NASCAR Touring Series is operated under the supervision of representatives of the American NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing). EURO-RACECAR is registered as an FIA International Series. Team FJ founded the series in 2009 and runs the event. EURO-RACECAR is the third international series to fall under the NASCAR touring banner – along with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and NASCAR Mexico Series – and the first outside of North America.
