The research center is looking for 60 children for the COVID-19 vaccine study in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – The Nevada Wake Research-Clinical Research Center is looking for 60 children eligible for a vaccine study.

The WR-CRCN hopes to begin trials for children ages 12-17 sometime this week.

The participants will be compensated.

The studies relate to the Novavax vaccine, which is 96% effective against COVID-19.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, children now account for a fifth of new COVID-19 cases in the United States.

Children made up 22% of new COVID-19 cases last week, while children made up only 3% of all cases a year ago.
