All Vegas nightclubs have been closed for a year due to the pandemic, right?
Not correct. While the state’s COVID restrictions require nightclubs to remain closed, a handful of venues have reopened and served guests safely by changing the way they work. Packed dance floors and general admission aren’t allowed, so reservations are required, and the clubs have focused on lounge experiences to meet social distancing and other guidelines.
The most significant reopening in recent times is Omnia at Caesars Palace (702-785-6200), which won’t be back in operation until March 5th on its outdoor terrace. It is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:30 p.m. and offers a contactless menu system via scannable QR codes and separate VIP areas along with the familiar views of the strip. Omnia has been closed for just under a year – as has the Hakkasan Group flagship of the same name at MGM Grand – so the return of that part of the experience is a welcome event for spring.
What other night clubs are open?
The Tao at the Grand Canal Shoppes in Venetian (702-388-8588) has had a toe back in the water since its restaurant reopened in October. The current club program called Tao Late Night runs on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. It expands to include Friday evening on March 19th.
XS at Encore (702-770-7300) acts as the XS Lounge. The indoor and outdoor tables are available on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 p.m.
The Foundation Room in Mandalay Bay (702-632-7631), a nightlife facility that has always been a hybrid club, lounge, and restaurant experience, is open Thursday through Sunday at 6 p.m. Reservations are required.
The rooftop pool and club area at Drai’s at Cromwell has not yet announced a reopening schedule, but the staff have already stated that they hope to be brought back to life on a grand scale. So wait a few more months. In the meantime, Drai’s After Hours area (702-777-3800) on the ground floor is open as an ultra lounge from Thursday to Sunday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
In Paris Las Vegas, the Chateau Nightclub & Rooftop (702-776-7777) is still closed but has some pop-up experiences planned in the Alexxa’s Lounge on the ground floor starting March 5th on Fridays and Saturdays at 10:00 PM takes place.
It’s definitely worth noting that the Dorsey (702-414-1945) at the Venetian and the Electra Cocktail Club at the Palazzo (702-607-1950), while not considered nightclubs, offer fantastic drinks and a vibrant ambience, as well as DJs who play on Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m. The Dorsey is open Thursday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., while Electra is open from Friday to Sunday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
What about pool parties in day clubs?
The popular strip pool clubs also reopened this past summer to comply with the rules and provide a more relaxed, service-minded day-to-day life. Many still have DJs setting the soundtrack, although the big names aren’t really back yet. The energy is certainly different, but the music, drinks, food, and atmosphere remain as these day club venues essentially act as complementary extensions to the resort’s pool venues.
But if no pool is a day club, then aren’t all pools day clubs? Is the experience the same as in a quiet hotel pool complex?
Not really, because the day clubs are still mostly open to guests aged 21 and over. And many resort pools are only open to hotel guests. And just for you to know, guests must wear face covers unless they are eating, drinking, or lounging in the pool.

The marquee in the Cosmopolitan (702-333-9000) has always stood out for its excellent menu and increased the stakes last summer. It will reopen on March 5th and will be operational from 11 a.m. Friday through Sunday. The nightly programming is expected to follow in weeks or months.
