UPDATE: Restoration of power supply after major outages in North Las Vegas

NORDLAS VEGAS (KLAS) – More than 10,000 people were without power on Saturday night due to a series of outages in north Las Vegas.

NV Energy reported 10,581 customers without power on Saturday evening from 9:30 p.m., according to their outage map.

NV Energy also reports that the failure was caused by a Mylar balloon. The location of the failure goes back to a substation near Centennial Parkway and 215 Beltway.

While estimates have changed over the night, NV Energy currently expects power to be restored before midnight.
